I covered up an old self portrait with this painting. I just didn't like it. I painted it back in around 1999 and finally had enough. So Le Pique Nique was born. I thought a lot about decay after I painted this one. It is oil, plastic ants, pencil, and twine on canvas -- 20"x30"

This is one of the first paintings that I ever did. It's from around 1994. Anything that I did before this was just a warm up - or I was doing a lot of drawing. I used oil and acrylic. It is 9"x12". I unearthed this painting recently and photographed it. Upon doing so, the image re-inspired me and I thought it would be interesting to digitally manipulate it in my computer (something I never do out of respect for the art). Since it had been so long and I had all but forgotten about this piece, I felt the move was justified. Here is the 21st century digital version:

This painting is the product of my frustration with a surreal painting that I was doing for just about the longest time. It was a painting with a house of sorts that had a face and a man curled up in the upper left window. On the roof, were two bugs -- one with the head of a dog...just like the dream that I had over a year ago. I had been working off and on for the past year on the relatively small canvas when finally I just lost all inspiration to go forward. Rather than trudge on and finish just because I had started, I decided to forget the surreal project altogether. I decided to just let my insides guide me as I covered up all the work I had done and when I finished a few days later, I was very happy. I used a lot of paint and a pallet knife. I also used rubber bands and the plastic ants that I had received in the mail in the middle of the process (perfect timing). I realize that the plasitc ants are difficult to make out on the screen so I have posted some close ups of the ants to accompany the painting. They are located on the far left in a dark area, on the upper right in a dark area, in the lower right next to the yellow arc, and at the bottom in a dark area. The yellow magnetic letter "F" is one that I found while I was shopping for a sofa. What a find! Please enjoy the painting.

This is my first animation. It has nothing to do with fear, frown, first, fuck, fowl, farce, fool, foot, fault, form, fecal, fragment, fixate, fellow, feast, farms, flies, flee, fast, flock, fins, flapping, flail, flabbergasted, foal, fugitive, festivity, fallow, forest, fauna, foliage, fun, fellacious, fork, figments, far, for, freak, feign, feline, fantasy, furrow, flak, flakes, fickle, faking, flaunting, forraging, Fred, fist, free, fury, frenzy, fiction, feel, or fired. It simply is.

Similar to Handmade Hole but darker in color and appearance. The two were recently on display at Runway Boutique in Los Angeles. People were surprisingly receptive to the emotion associated with the piece. Please feel free to take a closer look.

This is a left handed self portrait from a couple years ago.

This is me as of a couple days ago...yes, I know, it's the Leno metamorphosis...

This is a painting that I did for an "alter ego" assignment in high school. It must have been 1994... It is rather small but that is what I was comfortable with at the time.

This is an acrylic painting that I did around 1997 with paint and a top secret technique to give it texture ;-) Hints of color rest in the overwhelming grey.

This is the last acrylic painting that I did in '99 before I started oil painting. I never actually finished it...

This is one of the first acrylic paintings I've ever done. It dates back to about 1994.

This is a drawing that I did on my apartment's bedroom wall with a pencil. I plan to paint over it with blue paint so it will not exist in reality for very long. It's not a masterpiece but it came from the dark recesses of my mind and I thought I'd share.

I did this piece when I was about 18 years old. It is made of acrylic paint and paper towels. Best when viewed while listening to Metallica's Shortest Straw.
