Blue Man's Burden

Oil on canvas

This is a painting that I completed in 2003. It deals with the human struggle between cold hard will and warm flowing passion. I often experience this struggle. The key is to find a balance where both will and passion can co-exist, feeding off each other, and promoting growth.

will versus passion... yes. quite a dilemma. but where do the passionately willing fit into all this? or the willfully passionate for that matter? do you think the blue man understands any of this? oh wait, how could he?... he's made of paint. not everyone has that luxury...
